Dr. Mohammad Amzad Hossain Sarker is Professor (2nd Grade) in the Department of Marketing at Comilla University, Bangladesh. He has been serving in this department since 2007. He is the founding Chairman of this department. He is a man from Cumilla, Homna Upazilla. He did his BBA and MBA degree from Marketing Department, University of Dhaka. Prof. Amzad got his PhD degree in Tourism Marketing from Wuhan University of Technology, Peoples’ Republic of China. 

 

With around 22 years of teaching and research experience in Undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Professor Amzad has been a faculty member at Comilla University since May 2007, when he joined as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013 and Professor in 2018. His academic career began in 2002 as Lecturer at Dhaka City College, Dhaka and after that he joined as lecturer at Patuakhali Science and Technology University. His extensive academic career reflects a deep commitment to education and research in marketing.

 

Professor Amzad has more than 16 years of administrative experience, including roles as Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at Comilla University (04 years), Chairman of the Department of Marketing (more than 12 years), Head, Self-assessment Committee (05 years) and Assistant Proctor (02 years) at the same institution. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Marketing at Patuakhali Science and Technology University. Additionally, Professor Amzad has contributed as Convenor of Annual report formulation for Comilla University and Editor of The Comilla University Journal of Business Studies. Since the university's inception, he has played a pivotal role in formulating exam and other rules and regulations for Undergrad and Postgraduate program. He has been an active participant in university governance and policy-making, serving as a Convenor of certificate preparation committee for 1st Convocation, Academic Council, and Finance Committee. He has also been expert member, guest teacher, academic advisor and curriculum expert of this and other public and private universities.

 


He has supervised a number of BBA, MBA and MBA (Evening) internship and thesis students. He has also taught international students at Wuhan University of Technology in China.
