Shaiful Islam Arafat is a Lecturer in Mathematics at Comilla University. He is an early-career academic with strong interests in Dynamical Systems and Theory of Groups. In his teaching, he prioritizes a strong theoretical foundation alongside relevant applications, enabling students to visualize mathematical concepts within a rigorous formal framework.

Prior to joining Comilla University, he served as an Adjunct Faculty at United International University (UIU), where he taught undergraduate mathematics courses and contributed to course planning and assessment development.

He completed his MSc in Mathematics from University of Dhaka in 2022 with a CGPA of 3.84 (out of 4.00), and earned his BSc in Mathematics from the same institution in 2021 with a CGPA of 3.78 (out of 4.00). Throughout his academic journey, he has demonstrated consistent excellence in both coursework and competitive mathematics. He received scholarship from UGC for his outstanding first-year BSc results (GPA 3.96 out of 4.00, Position: 2nd) and was also awarded NST Fellowship (2023–24) in Physical Science.

Mr. Arafat achieved notable success in undergraduate level mathematics olympiads and competitions, securing 6th place in IDM (International Day of Mathematics) Math Contest 2021 and 8th place in IDM Math Olympiad 2022, both organized by Bangladesh Mathematical Society (BMS). These accomplishments reflect his strong analytical ability, creativity in problem solving, and deep engagement with mathematical thinking.

Beyond his academic responsibilities, Mr. Arafat has actively participated in mathematical outreach activities, particularly those organized by BMS. He served as a lead volunteer in organizing the IDM Math Olympiad in 2023 and 2024, as well as National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad (NUMO) in 2024.

Mr. Arafat is currently conducting 'MTH-411: Fundamentals of Topology' course for the 16th batch (Session: 2021-22) of the Department of Mathematics at Comilla University.
