Mr. Rasel has been working as an assistant professor (currently on study leave) from December 2022 to date. His current research interests are in nuclear medicine imaging integrated with radiotherapy, with a focus on advanced image reconstruction and artificial intelligence–driven algorithm development for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) and lung cancer imaging in SPECT and PET systems. His expertise spans Monte Carlo–based simulation, attenuation correction, denoising, and 4D motion-compensation using the state-of-the-art deep learning techniques. He taught various courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, including Nuclear Physics, Reactor Physics, Quantum Mechanics, etc.
