The lab is led by Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of CSE, whose research areas include computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, human-computer interaction, speech and signal processing, and artificial intelligence. The lab supports and coordinates research supervision for three PhD scholars and more than ten MS students across multiple universities worldwide. This global supervision framework enables collaborative research, cross-institutional knowledge exchange, and high-quality research output in the areas of computer vision and interactive systems. Doctoral and master’s research topics span image and video understanding, object detection and tracking, gait and activity recognition, multimodal and interactive systems, 2D LiDAR-based perception, and intelligent human-centered applications. A primary strength of the lab lies in its focus on research publications as core lab outcomes. Lab members actively contribute to peer-reviewed international journals, reputable conferences, and edited volumes. Research is driven by rigorous experimentation, reproducibility, and methodological soundness, with an emphasis on developing novel algorithms and frameworks that advance the state of the art. Publications produced under the lab reflect both theoretical contributions and applied solutions to real-world challenges. The lab provides structured mentorship in research design, experimental evaluation, academic writing, and publication strategy. Students are trained to work with real-world datasets, modern deep learning architectures, and interdisciplinary methodologies. Ongoing research activities and publication records are documented through mhraju.com and the official Comilla University faculty profile. Through sustained supervision, high-impact publications, and international collaboration, the Interactive Systems and Computer Vision Lab contributes to the advancement of global research in computer vision and interactive systems while strengthening the research profile of Comilla University. |
