Dr. Patwary is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Comilla University. He received his B.Sc. and M.S. from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Chittagong in 2009 and 2011, respectively with distinction holding 1st Position in both. In 2010, he was awarded a National Science and Information & Communication Technology (NSICT) fellowship from the government of Bangladesh. In 2011, he joined the Department of Chemistry at Comilla University as a lecturer and became an Assistant Professor in 2015. He was a MEXT Scholar at the Optoelectronics Laboratory, Saga University, Japan from 2017 to 2020 and was awarded a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2020. He was granted the India Science and Research Fellowship (ISRF) 2022 and performed his research at Mahindra University, India. He was awarded the prestigious Vice-Chancellor Award-2023 for his outstanding contribution to research from his working station at Comilla University. He has successfully conducted 10 research projects and one departmental renovation project. His current research interests include Sputtering and SILAR-grown Cu, Zn, and Ni oxide thin films to use in next-generation high-efficiency optoelectronic devices such as photovoltaics, photochemical water splitting, gas sensor, etc. He has the expertise to run and control sophisticated instruments such as Sputtering, PLD, CVD, Spin coating, XRD, Raman, XPS, UV-VIS, FTIR, SEM, EDS, AFM, SIMS, Hall measurement, Photo reflectance, Photoluminescence etc. He is performing computational studies of new materials by using Material Studio, Gaussian and SCAPS 1D software. Dr. Patwary is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Bangladesh Chemical Society. He published one book chapter, and 24 peer-reviewed national and international journals and attended more than 22 conferences. He has visited Japan, the USA, China, India and many more.
