Md. Obaidur Rahman is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at Comilla University. He is also a PhD candidate at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Türkiye, and has participated in an Erasmus Mundus exchange program at Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany.
His research interests lie in bioarchaeology, with a particular focus on ancient environments, human cultural adaptability, and medieval archaeology. He has practical experience in zooarchaeology and geoarchaeology, contributing to both fieldwork and laboratory-based research.
As part of his academic training, he has had the opportunity to work at several renowned archaeological sites, including Troy, Aydın (Çine-Tepe), Assos and Eceabat, as well as at the Troy Museum. During his international academic engagements, he has collaborated with prominent archaeologists across various excavation sites in Türkiye.
He has also gained extensive laboratory experience and Archeological Excavation working in multiple archaeological laboratories both within his home institution and externally, particularly in zooarchaeological laboratories such as those at Aydın Çine-Tepe and other specialized research facilities.
Md. Rahman has published several research articles in reputable national and international indexed journals, addressing topics such as archaeological conservation guidelines, pre-medieval land pricing models, and historical agricultural and food-processing systems. In addition to his publications, he has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, where he has presented his research findings.
Beyond his academic pursuits, he is actively engaged in volunteering and co-curricular activities, including debating, voice artistry, anchoring, and event organization. His contributions in these areas have been recognized with several awards, including debate championships and participation in professional training programs.
