Dr. M. Zakir Saadullah Khan is a Professor (Grade-1) in the Department of Economics at Comilla University, Bangladesh. He holds a PhD from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also holds an M.A. in International Business Economics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and both M.S.S. and B.S.S. (Honours) degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

 

With more than 31 years of teaching and research experience, Professor Khan has been a faculty member at Comilla University since March 2009, when he joined as an Associate Professor. He was promoted to Professor in 2013. His academic career began in 1993 as a Lecturer, followed by roles as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at various government colleges in Bangladesh under BCS (Education) cadre. His extensive academic career reflects a deep commitment to education and research in economics.

 

Professor Khan has approximately 16 years of administrative experience, including roles as Dean of the Faculty of Social Science at Comilla University, Chairman of the Department of Economics, and Provost of Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall at the same institution. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Economics at various government colleges. Additionally, Professor Khan has contributed to national projects as a Project Director. Since the university's inception, he has played a pivotal role in formulating various rules and regulations. He has been an active participant in university governance and policy-making, serving as a member of the Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance Committee, and Budget Working Group etc., and has provided institutional oversight through his involvement in various other committees.

 

Professor Khan has over 80 research outputs and scholarly efforts, including articles published in international and national journals, conference presentations, funded research projects, and the supervision of student theses. His research significantly impacts the field of economics.
